Osahon Akpata is Chief Operating Officer, Group Consumer Bank at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), a pan African Bank based in Lomé, Togo. In his current role, he drives the execution of the bank’s strategy across 33 African countries, with a focus on leveraging digital solutions to serve consumers, and he also leads the Strategic Partnerships function.
Prior to joining Ecobank, Osahon ran the Implementation Practice at the Nigeria office of McKinsey & Company, where he worked collaboratively with several CEOs, business executives and public-sector leaders, to develop and implement successful strategies in very competitive industries.
He began his professional career in Finance at the corporate headquarters of Johnson & Johnson in the US as a financial analyst. He transitioned into the company’s sales force where he had a successful career over a decade, winning several awards including the coveted President’s Trophy reserved for the top 5% of the salesforce. His expertise lies in developing and executing successful strategies, running sales transformations across large geographical regions and creating value-added strategic partnerships.
Osahon holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in the US and a post-graduate diploma in Strategic Partnerships from IMD Business School in Switzerland where he has also been a guest speaker on the topic.
